Notice Three Good Things in Nature

Research has shown that noting three good things in nature each day leads to an increase in nature connection, health and wellbeing.

Adults and young people will benefit from this daily ritual and could share the things they notice by:

  • Writing in a journal
  • Drawing pictures
  • Taking photos
  • Talking about your good things at the end of each day
Today I saw some huge, fluffy clouds, a beautiful flower in my garden and heard a tūī singing happily on my way to school.

The education team at DOC (Department of Education) have created a short video to explain the activity, including links to other related ideas and tools. Click on the link provided above to check it out.

You can read more about the background to this project and the nature connection research led by UK scientist Miles Richardson on his Finding Nature blog.
