Term Three Seasonal Learning
The days are getting longer and spring is in sight! The start of the term is still a great time get trees and plants in the ground for your biodiversity projects and you can spend some time analysing your school's waste systems during Plastic Free July or share your favourite nature books during School Library Week. Later in the term there are opportunities to connect with and give back to te taiao during Conservation Week, Bee Aware month, Bird of the Year and Clean up Week.

15 - 28 September Bird of the Year Te Manu Rongonui o te Tau
Forest and Bird's annual event turns 20 this year! Check the official website regularly for updates on this year's candidates (current information is still from the 2024 competition).
14 - 20 September Te Wiki o te Reo Māori
Use the ‘Te Reo Māori’ filter in our Resource Catalogue to find resources that are bilingual or available only in te reo Māori.

You can register your school, centre or group to receive support and resources.
28 September World Rivers Day
Even though this event falls in the school holidays this year, you could use this international day of awareness as an excuse to explore your local awa or take part in a freshwater education programme during Term 3 or 4.
