Recycling Week

Recycling Week

What is Recycling Week?

Recycling Week is Aotearoa New Zealand's largest annual campaign for education on recycling and waste minimisation. The week is designed to inspire and empower Kiwis to reduce waste and recycle more effectively.

Throughout the week, organisations across NZ take part in a variety of waste minimisation activities of their choice. These initiatives raise awareness both within organisations and in the wider community, promoting responsible recycling and waste minimisation for a cleaner, more sustainable future for NZ. Using the Recycling Week Daily Focuses, each day concentrates on a specific part of the waste minimisation hierarchy (avoiding/refusing, reducing, reusing/repairing, and recycling).

Participation is FREE, and self-directed - you know your school best, so while we provide ideas, inspiration and information (as well as access to resources like posters, quizzes, webinars, comms templates & more), it's entirely up to you to decide what activities to do.

Running Recycling Week in your school is an easy and fun way to promote education on waste and recycling to students and staff.
